The Wooten Community Foundation is a nonprofit community-focused organization dedicated improving family stability, and reducing poverty in West Virginia through direct support, strategic partnerships, and mission-aligned investment in practical solutions. Our mission is based on the PPP principle. Pride, Purpose, and a Paycheck. These three seemingly simple things are the backbone of a functioning society and healthy families. We help people grow beyond dependence on the state, break generational cycles of poverty, and become tax paying citizens.
Our Focus
Wooten Community Foundation supports efforts such as:
providing education on personal finances and managing a budget
coordinating transportation for our neighbors to get to work
incubating and assessing small business proposals to rejuvenate our communities
creating programs that strengthen family stability, and thereby prevent thousands of children from entering foster care
mission-aligned charitable initiatives that create measurable local impact
How the Foundation and Wooten Family Services May Work Together
Because both organizations are mission-aligned, there may be times when they coordinate or support related efforts. When that happens, the relationship should be understood clearly:
The Foundation may support charitable projects, community initiatives, or public-benefit efforts that align with its mission.
Wooten Family Services may operate separate fee-for-service programs as a for-profit business.
The two organizations may refer people, share general mission alignment, or cooperate on projects when appropriate.
Any paid work, administrative support, shared resources, or formal partnership between the two will be handled separately, documented clearly, and structured so that Foundation assets remain dedicated to charitable purposes.
Is Wooten Community Foundation the same as Wooten Family Services?
No. They are separate entities. This page is hosted on the Wooten Family Services website for convenience, but the Foundation has a separate charitable purpose while Wooten Family Services remains a traditional business that donates a portion of it's profits to run the foundation.
Do donations go to Wooten Family Services?
No. Donations made through the Foundation donation links are intended for Wooten Community Foundation and its mission to eliminate poverty in West Virginia through Pride, Purpose, and a Paycheck.
Can the Foundation and Wooten Family Services work together?
They may cooperate on mission-aligned efforts when appropriate, but any such relationship must be handled separately and in a way that protects the Foundation’s charitable purpose and independence.
Can I support a specific project?
Yes. Contact the Foundation to discuss designated giving, sponsorships, or mission-aligned initiatives, subject to Foundation policies and applicable restrictions.
